We know your time is valuable, and just like in fitness, being accountable to training each week with a coach will typically get you to your goals faster than going at it alone. In this online course, you can go at your own pace, but you’ll have a Mentor to help you along the way, to ask questions and keep you on track. You’ll also get real-world experience through weekly assignments that you can review with your mentor.

We also believe in the power of working together, in real time, to learn. You’ll have access to your MINT Mentor through each module to ask questions, bounce ideas off of, chat about client experiences you may be having, and more.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

Movement and breathing strategies along with an awareness of anatomical and physiological changes is key in training the pregnant or postpartum woman.

Proper nutrition is key in nourishing our bodies, hormonal health and fertility. The goal is to balance getting enough nutrients to support the growth of the baby and maintaining a healthy weight. Postpartum nourishment is key in breastmilk supply, energy & healing.

When working with pregnant and postpartum clients, the most important thing they will modify is their mindset. Through every stage, it is our job to help guide our clients through the mental challenges of their journey. We help them do this by supporting them with encouragement, empathy, educational-based support, and grace.

The MINT Trainer's Journey

By the end of this course, you will have the skills and expertise to safely and effectively train clients from pre-pregnancy with fertility considerations, through pregnancy and postpartum (which is forever!). Not only will you have strategies in relation to movement, nutrition and mindset, but you will also learn tips on marketing yourself as a professional in the space. You’ll also get hands-on, real world experience through homework assignments that you can discuss with your mentor!

Fertility

Most programs teach you about pregnancy, but there's a lot to cover about the stages before that. Mindset, nutrition and recovery all come into play.

Pregnancy

Elevate yourself in the pregnancy & postpartum fitness space by getting the tools you need to successfully and safely train clients.

Postpartum

Learn to take a client safely through their postpartum journey back to exercise with proper movement, nutrition and mindset considerations.

After conception, I soon realized that despite my 10 years of working in the fitness industry and formal education, I had no idea how to train myself (let alone anyone else) through pregnancy or the postpartum period. I began seeking advice from health care professionals, to which, their answers were short of “do what you always do” immediately followed by “but don’t lift more than 35 lbs or get your heart rate above 140” - very contradictory to what I was doing prior to conception, very extreme, generalized and what I thought was outdated. With the amount of drastic changes already occurring (both physically, mentally and emotionally) during this early pregnancy time, I found that I had no one to fully answer my questions regarding maintaining my lifestyle. I found the girls at the MINT project who shared a similar mindset to mine and quickly jumped into a seminar and the MINT Trainer's Certification Course. I found that these tools have provided me with so much clarity and education on not only how to train myself throughout my pregnancy but also moving forward, how to train clients and pivot my business to focus solely on pregnant and postpartum women.

During the middle of this course I had 3 pregnant moms in my classes. I was able to help each one see a different way to exercise properly. Instead of saying to them “just do what feels good”. This brought valuable knowledge to them, and I hadn’t even finished my course. As I am now done with this course I look forward to helping even more women during this very important part of their life. As a mom of 4 daughters I wish I would have known all this before. Becoming a mom changed my life and also changed me as a person, but I have to say it was difficult not knowing how to workout during those times and feel like myself during that time.
